SingStar Promotion T&Cs - Video upload
1. The Promotion is open to residents of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden aged 18 or over except employees of Sony Computer Entertainment companies, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion.
2. No purchase necessary. No entrant may win more than one prize. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries will be accepted. No entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will be accepted.
3. To enter, please register your details at www.singstargame.com (the Website), accept these Promotion Terms & Conditions and upload a video of yourself singing a song from those listed in the SingStore. Your entry will be checked for compliance with the SingStar Code of Conduct and if it complies, it will be uploaded to the Website.
4. Entries must be no longer than 30 seconds in duration.
5. The closing date for receipt of entries is 23.59 (GMT) on 20th June 2008.
6. Responsibility is not accepted for any entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries will become the property of the Promoter.
7. Users of the Website will be given an opportunity to rate their favourite uploaded entries by giving them a rating of between one and five stars. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any ratings given if it considers there has been any attempt to rig the voting.
8. Those entries that receive an average rating of four stars or more will be shortlisted. The winners will be the 6 people from the shortlist who, in the opinion of an independent judge, have given the most entertaining performance and kept most accurately to the pitch, tone and rhythm of the original recording. There will be one first place winner, one second place winner and four runners up.
9. The winners will be notified within 5 days of the closing date. The winners must claim their prize within 48 hours of the notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with the Promotion rules.
10. Prizes
10.1 The person in first place will receive (i) VIP tickets to Benicassim festival in Valencia, Spain, (ii) where applicable, return travel from the winner’s country to Valencia departing on 16th July 2008 and returning on 20th July 2008 (iii) 4 nights bed and breakfast accommodation in a 3 star hotel or better and (iv) transfers between Valencia airport/station (as applicable) and the hotel and between the hotel and the festival site. Tickets will be dispatched by post to the first place winner before the date of the festival. VIP passes will be presented to the first place winner at the festival by a designated representative of the Promoter.
The first place winner must ensure that any guest that they bring to the festival is aged 18 years or over at the time of travel.
The first place winner and their guest must both hold valid passports and must obtain any necessary visas at their own expense prior to travel.
The first place winner and their guest are responsible for arranging and paying for travel to and from their departure Airport. Only breakfast is provided as part of the prize and all other meals and drinks are the responsibility of the first prize winner and their guest.
10.2 The person in second place will receive a copy of the PlayStation 2 game “SingStar® Summer Party” and a SingStar t-shirt.
10.3 Four runners up will each receive a SingStar t-shirt.
11. The decision of the judge is final. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value or to amend, alter or cancel the promotion. No cash alternative will be offered. No correspondence will be entered into.
12. The winners’ names will be made available on request to those sending an e-mail to team@singstargame.com within ten weeks after the closing date.
13. The Promotion winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this Promotion.
14. By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of this Promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
15. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
